I made the home page for my pets today and started on Clifford's page! I need to add Lady to the same page, and then I can use the same layout for Beanie, the rats, and Peaches. I'm really happy with how my website is coming along! I was also able to make a button for my page today and add a little code box so people can add it to their own sites if they want (: I hope to get the pet pages done within the next few days, esp since the actual html/css part should be mostly done with and I'll just have to add words and pictures, and then I can get started on my fiction page! It's gonna be a sort of directory for all of my fiction projects, including writing, art, and TTRPG stories. I want to eventually post some APs on here, but I need to finish up the site before that and also get back to my campaigns.

I finished What Lies in the Woods yesterday right before I fell asleep. I enjoyed the book, and I liked that it set the mystery up to be something you could actually solve. I hate a thriller that throws a twist in at the end completely out of left field that you never could have possibly guessed -- it just doesn't feel like it's in the spirit of the genre. My biggest gripe with the book is that it took a lot of inspiration from the Slenderman Stabbing, and I mean like. A Lot. All the way down to the injuries the main character got. I feel like maybe the author should have changed a few more of the details, just for kindess's sake. I started a new thriller this morning while I was waiting for Mouse to wake up, this one is called Wrong Place, Wrong Time by Gillian McAllister. It's interesting so far! It's a type of time loop story, where the main character keeps waking up progressively farther and farther back in time while she tries to figure out the cause of her son stabbing a man the day before the time loop started. A little put off by the main character's brief implication that antifa are a violent group who does crime for no reason, but I'm gonna give the rest of it a chance because my fave booktuber left a glowing review.

As another Sunday comes to a close I am once again dreading work tomorrow. I wish I could stay home with Mouse and work on my website more ): nevertheless, we persevere...Tomorrow is my friend's last day, so at least I have that to motivate me. I'm heartbroken he's leaving, he's been so amazing to work with, but I also understand why he's going and I'm happy that he's finally getting out of this hell hole. He deserves the world, and I hope that his next place of work appreciates the true value that he brings. We're going to have a going away party, and I feel silly because I haven't gotten him anything but I feel like I should have. I don't know what I would get him though. Oh well, maybe I can make him a little bouquet throughout the day.

I spent a lot of time working on my site today, and I'm really happy with my progress so far. I want to find decorations for this page, but I like that it's already pretty functional for what I want it to do. I want to work on my pet pages next, and then a page for my solo TTRPG projects. I'm a little disappointed it's taken me so long to sit down and learn HTML/CSS considering I've been an avid tumblr user for over a decade, but the past is the past and at least I'm learning it now!

I've had some trouble with the formatting on this page, but I think I have it figured out now. Not really sure what happened or how I fixed it, but the box seems to be a better solution than trying to format the paragraphs themselves, which will also be better for any longer posts I have.

Other than website stuff, I spent some time with my rats earlier! I put the two babies in my hoodie for bonding time since they are still a bit skittish around me, and they snuggled for about 30 minutes before they were brave enough to come out of the hood. I'm obsessed with them. I got them a new forage toy today as well -- sometimes when I give them toys I wish I was a rat so bad, and this one was one of those. It's a woven net shaped into a cylinder and stuffed with shredded paper and hangs from the ceiling, and it just looks like it would be so fun to chew on.

I also got a new pair of earbuds because my old pair were fucked and don't really work anymore, and I'm super happy with them! They're noise cancelling and while it isn't perfect it's better than my old pair. I've been listening to the end of What Lies in the Woods by Kate Alice Marshall, and many of my predictions were correct, which I'm delighted by. I'm not quite finished, but most of the big reveals have happened, so now I'm just rolling my eyes at the main character for being kind of stupid. I hope that the LI shows back up soon, he's somehow the most normal and well-adjusted person in this entire book.
